Nissan GT Academy Philippines: In Search for First Filipino Race Car Driver To Compete in UK

With hopes that a Filipino will emerge as the next international motor sports sensation, Nissan Philippines launched Nissan GT Academy in March 2015, a first of its kind in the country. Nearly 20,000 trials were made in the last 13 Live Events that were held to date.

If it's the first time you've ever heard of this and you feel that you should also be sitting in the pod racing, don't fret because there's still a chance to be on the leader board. Here is the schedule of the Live Events for June:

· SM BF Paranaque and Robinsons Bacolod – June 5-7

· Centrio Mall, CDO – June 5-6

· SM Cebu – June 11-17

· SM Masinag – June 12-14

· SM Sta. Rosa – June 18-24

· SM Manila – June 19-21

· Glorietta 2 Activity Center – June 26-28

· High Street, BGC – June 27

Here is the leader board as of  May 24:

From left t right. Top 6, 4, 3, 2 and 1 sharing their experiences on getting it to the leader board.

I was lucky enough to race virtually last night for the Nissan GT Academy Media Cup 2015 held at Valkyrie, Uptown Bonifacio.

I tried twice but went the wrong way so my time was invalid to make it to Top 20. Some of the people I knew made it and received a prize. A dash cam!

Top 3 from male category received a Lenovo tablet aside from dash cam. Top female performer (who got the fast time from female category) also went home with a Lenovo tablet.
See you in July for the National Finals. Who will make it to the Final 20?

Live it up!
