Bond with Your Dogs at the 2nd Team Kovu Dog Sport Cup on November 28
The first ever human and dog outdoor adventure challenge, 2nd Team Kovu Dog Sports Cup is set to happen on November 28, 2015 at the Greenfield City Sports Field in Paseo Center, Sta. Rosa, Laguna. Expect a whole day of fun activities for you and your dog.
Yesterday, I met Carl Michael de Leon of TeamKovu Enterprises. He shared his and his American Bulldog Kovu’ experiences in attending different dog events around the metro. I have a big heart for people who love and value their dogs so much as I grew up in a family who can’t live without a dog in the house.
TeamKovu was created in memory of Carl’s dog Kovu, to continue the legacy of promoting an active human and dog lifestyle. Nine years of professional dog training experience has helped Carl come up with the following obstacles for Team Kovu Challenge:
Bamboo TeePee Maze
Horizontal Ladder Walk
Crawling Pit
Pull Power
Bamboo Bridge
Hurdle Overload
Artifice Box
Uphill Battle
These challenges are more or less the same with other dog
challenges held locally or otherwise, but inspired by Carl and Kovu’s real-life
adventures together. He incorporated the use of bamboo to showcase Filipino style. Rigid dog training is
not a requirement to finish the challenges. Likewise, big or small dogs, of any
breed (at least 6 months old) can join as teamwork and bonding with your dog is
the key for you to finish all the challenges with the fastest time. Participating
dog owners below 13 years old must be accompanied by a parent or a guardian. You

for you to be at least prepared on what to expect during the event.

A reasonable amount of registration is required to
participate (check out TeamKovu website.) Percentage from registrations will go
to Island Rescue Organization (IRO),
a non-profit animal welfare group based in Cebu . Its Executive Director Ms Nena Hernandez
will share awareness on their advocacies.
