Prestige Hotels and Resorts, Inc. (PHRI) was established in 1999 by premier real estate company, Megaworld Corporation, with the task of managing and developing its hotel and leisure portfolio. Founded more than 20 years ago by business mogul and modern day taipan Andrew L. Tan, Megaworld is regarded as one of the top urban developers in the Philippines, concentrating on large-scale projects set in prime locations in Metro Manila which include high-rise residential and office buildings as well as “live-work-play” townships geared primarily to the middle and high-income markets. With the creation of PHRI, Megaworld expands its business by entering into the tourism and hospitality industry and constructing first-rate hotels that complement its city developments.
Recognizing the immense pool of talents the country has to offer, PHRI is composed of an all-Filipino team possessing not only years of experience in the service & hospitality industry, but also notable expertise in their own respective fields. Kingson U. Sian heads the company as President, with some of Megawold’s top officers providing valuable support on the board, and hotelier Carmen C. Fernando at the helm of the hotel’s over-all operations as Managing Director.
Richmonde is the first hotel brand created by PHRI. The Richmonde Brand denotes world-class products and services. It seeks to uphold the highest of standards that would rival any deluxe hotel in the city, while aiming to provide service that is especially warm and sincere to all its guests. The Richmonde provides guests with an experience that is always “Distinctly Richmonde. Distinctly Personal.”
For its first hotel venture, PHRI opened Richmonde Hotel Ortigas (RHO) in the heart of Ortigas Center in 1999. During the hotel’s early years, the area had yet to prove itself as the next most important business and commercial district after Makati. Luckily, Ortigas Center lived up to its goal, thus, enabling RHO to cater to the hotel requirements of the corporate offices in and around the vicinity.
Second to open in 2010 is Eastwood Richmonde Hotel (ERH), located right in the center of the vibrant urban community that is Eastwood City in Libis, Quezon City. This 138-room hotel easily attracts both business and leisure travelers with its appealing city-within-a-city setting.
In the planning stages are other Richmonde properties in Iloilo, Mactan, Cebu & Boracay. - PR
