I Discovered The New Metro in Alabang

Saturday, August 18 at 1:00 PM. I was invited to attend a private opening of The New Metro in Alabang. With blogger friends, together we discovered what The New Metro offers its shoppers. I have been to Metro Gaisano in Cebu August of last year but did not have the liberty of time to go around the mall. My husband's cousin bought us famous Cebu delicacies for pasalubong going back to Manila. I think I remembered she said Metro Gaisano has it all so we could just drop by quickly so we would not miss our flight.

Exclusively consumed in one of the famous domestic airline company, now being sold exclusively at The New Metro
Located at Alabang-Zapote Road corner Madrigal and Corporate Avenue in Ayala Alabang, Muntinlupa City, The New Metro is about 44,000 square meters in area with 200 parking spaces and employs over a thousand employees. Metro opened its first department store and supermarket in 1982. It now operates 17 retail outlets, 11 in Cebu, 2 in Manila (Taguig and Binondo), and 1 in Legazpi, Lucena, Pampanga and Leyte respectively. Metro Alabang is the 18th store and by the end of 2012, 3 more stores will be opened.

While there are a lot of malls now in Metro Manila, Metro's presence is seen in the key cities of Luzon and Visayas though it is starting to penetrate in the Philippine capital. With a wide assortment of fresh and quality products, I think that is one reason why would I prefer going to Metro than any other place.

International selection (wow)

To further discover the whole New Metro, guests were given a treasure map and a passport that needed to be stamped on 12 times. Stamps could be acquired through visiting the treasure zones located all over the three floors of the mall. Once the stamps are completed, part of the passport is a raffle coupon that could win one of the following fabulous prizes:

Jewelty Set from Metro Jewelry
P20,000 Metro Department Store Gift Certificates
Nokia Lumia Cellphone
Samsung 32" LCD TV
White Westinghouse Washing Machine
Nikon Digital Camera
Whirlpool Microwave Oven
Corelle Dinner Set
2 Baskets of International Items from Metro Supermarket

What a very generous giveaway for an opening, isn't it?

Should husband and I decided to live in the South, we would definitely shop at Metro Alabang. Well, aside from him being Cebuano, I prefer a Supermarket that's close to complete, like I need not go to two shopping places to do groceries.

One unique shop is Taste of Cebu that sells complete Cebu specials from barquillos to dried mangoes to danggit and of course the lechon which is flown in daily from Cebu.

If you happen to live in the South, or in case you are traveling south, you may want to stop and check out The New Metro Alabang!
